RFS and the AVIDD Clusters

RFS, the Research File System, is accessible on the AVIDD-B cluster login nodes. If you have an RFS account, simply add the Softenv keyword +rfs to your ~/.soft file, and run resoft.

Kerberos credentials are required to access RFS, so you may be prompted for you Netid password. If there are no authentication issues, you will have a new variable, $RFSHOME, in your environment. The value of this variable should be the path to your RFS home directory (e.g. /afs/iu.edu/home/j/d/jdoe).

RFS is not available on the AVIDD compute nodes. GPFS or AVIDD home directories should be used as staging areas for any data that needs to be read from or written to RFS.

Any problems concerning RFS on AVIDD should be addressed to the High Performance Systems group, hps-admin@iu.edu.
