Celebrate GIS Day on November 17

Join us in celebrating the 12th anniversary of GIS Day, the worldwide, annual event highlighting GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
technology and its applications.
IU's event will focus on the GIS job market, training and certification, and the many ways that GIS technologies are shaping the way we live, learn, and do business. GIS professionals will showcase topics including environmental, library science, and mapping applications, mixing in satellite imagery and geocaching challenge activities.
- Main event: 10am-4pm, Wednesday, November 17
- Location: Herman B Wells Library, main lobby (IU Bloomington)
- Geocaching workshop: Noon, Wells Library lobby
- Keynote: 5pm, Wells Library, Conference Room E174
This year's highlight is the keynote by Tom Evans, "GIS + Sustainability: Science, Application and Implementation." Evans focuses on interactions between people and the environment with an emphasis on forest and agricultural dynamics.
